THE CHALLENGE
While The Educator's Book Club has grown to have over 7,000 members online, many members prefer to read comments online and reflect privately on the readings.
Many teachers want to use these studies towards credit for re-certification, but have trouble showcasing their engagement.
THE SOLUTION
This journal is compatible with note-taking apps, such as Good Notes and is a simplistic design that requires no tutorial.
The book study reflection prompts are included in advance of the scheduled posts in the online Facebook group.
The journal is designed using the shapes provided in Keynote to resemble an actual journal. Lines and shadows are utilized to optimize the illusion of using a real journal.
THE RESULTS
Because the book study prompts are provided in advance of the schedule posts in the online book study group, the members are able to read ahead and prepare their written responses in advance.
The teachers are able to submit this journal as an artifact towards re-certification.
Increased engagement of book studies online.
